Newsletter 25 – 24th March 2016

Dear Parents

We wish you all a very happy and blessed Easter and a good holiday. We all come back to school on Monday 11th April. Holiday Club will run for the first week of this holiday – sign up details below.

Charity Stall Afternoon What a wonderful event this was! My thanks to our tremendous children and their adult helpers who all worked so hard to ensure that the stalls were set up beautifully and everyone had a good time. It has been really encouraging to see how well the children worked together as a team to “Pitch” for their stalls, planned, organised and prepared for the stalls, set them up, acted as gentle, kindly and thoughtful shopkeepers, raised the money, packed up and left everything tidy. It is in these events that we can see who the future leaders will be – they worked with resilience through difficulties and obstacles, and showed courage when things were tricky. We are very proud of them!

Amongst the stalls, we had Raffles, Tombola, Decorating Gingerbread Men, Lucky Dip. Name the Teddy, Cake stall, Guess the Riddle, Throwing at a target, Drawing competition, Lavender Bags and Photo booth.

As soon as we have counted the money, we shall let you know how much was raised. Thank you also to the PFA who supplied the float and manpower. Thank you to the parents who sent in money for the children to spend on the stalls.

Party time in Stonehenge! Our youngest children have had a wonderful day today, in their ordinary clothes and having a party with the food they made yesterday. Thank you to the teachers in that classroom who worked hard to make sure this was an especially exciting day for the children.

Beer and Bid evening at Edington As the PFA fundraising reaches its zenith, they invite you to this fundraiser in Edington at the Three Daggers on Saturday 16th April: £15 (incl. welcome drink & canapés) 7-11pm. TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW from the School Reception. The PFA are not far off their target now, and we are very excited about the possibility of having the outdoor classroom built by the last half term of summer.

A reminder to bring in textiles for the textile recycling fundraiser in the first week back!
