Spring Recorder Concert To celebrate the achievements of our recorder players and to mark the last week of Mrs Jenkins’s time in our school, we will be holding an evening recorder concert on Tuesday 31st March at 5.00pm. All children who play recorder in school will be performing in ensemble. If your child takes recorder lessons, please note this date in your diary. The concert will last a little over half an hour. If you would like to make a donation to a leaving gift for Mrs Jenkins, please do so at the office.
As the result of having the recorders perform at this concert, our summer concert will not be run in two parts as originally planned but will start at 5.00pm for everyone without an interval. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this change.
New Recorder Lessons Our new recorder teacher will not be able to start teaching here until the new academic year (September 2020) due to circumstances beyond her control – we are sorry for the inconvenience caused. You will be asked to sign up for these lessons next term.
Transition Miss Nisbeck and I are continuing our work to support transition of children from Old School Nursery into our school in September. We go to the Old School Nursery and meet the children through the course of the year, and have planned activities to do with both settings together later in the year. Children from other nurseries will also be visited once places have been confirmed.
Collective Worship Our theme for this week was Finding Time for Silence and Reflection. Having quiet time is very important for mental health, whether one subscribes to a religious faith or not, and we always give children the chance to pause in their busy lives each day for this precious time. For people of faith, this is time which can be the opportunity for quiet prayer.
Superstars Holiday Club Our very popular holiday club will be running in the first week of the Easter holidays Monday 6th April – Thursday 9th April. Do sign up if you wish your child to attend this week of sports fun.
Corona Virus We will continue to monitor the situation and will take advice from the authorities. We will inform you of any changes. At present, the advice is very clear – we are not to close schools without express permission from Public Health England or the Department for Education. Holy Trinity Governors have a policy of asking everyone who has visited a category 1 or a category 2 country to self-isolate from school for a fortnight after their return as part of our mitigation of risk for vulnerable members of our community. Please check on the Government website or at the school office for the Government’s guidance on this which is less rigorous. Phone: 0800 046 8687 Email: DfE.coronavirushelpline@education.gov.uk
