Dear Parents
Children and Communion Course Revds Andrew Sinclair and Marion Harrison, the Church of England clergy who look after the catchment area of our school, would like to offer our children the opportunity to receive Holy Communion before they are confirmed. Preparation for this will take place at an “After School” club on Tuesdays after May half-term, and children participating will receive their first communion at the school Eucharist on Wednesday July 17th when Bishop Andrew will be attending. Any parent and child wishing to know more about this programme is invited to a meeting on Tuesday 21st May at 3.15 – 4pm in school. The course will run from June 11th from 3.15 – 4.15pm for five weeks.
Year 3 Year 4 residential trip There will be a meeting for all parents of children who will be in Year 3 and Year 4 NEXT academic year (those currently in Year 2 and Year 3) to discuss the residential trip to Hooke Court in Dorset that will take place in October. The meeting will take place on Wednesday 26th June at 2.30pm. Please do come along to find out about this very exciting trip and to ask any questions you may have. The children spend one night away, and take part in great outdoor activities – they enjoy the independence, the activities, the team work and the fun that they have on this trip. We are always very grateful to our teachers and teaching assistants who are prepared to take children away on these trips, to be on duty all day and night to care for them, and to help them learn and have fun.
Summer Music Concert Those children who take peripatetic music lessons in our school and who have reached a good standard, will be invited to perform in the Summer Music Concert on Tuesday 21st May starting at 5.00pm. If your child is performing, their music tutor will let them know and prepare them. Everyone is welcome to attend – it is a wonderful concert and the standard is remarkably high.

If we had only children from our designated area (catchment area), the school would be very vulnerable to closure since there would be only 58 children here. We are very grateful to all those parents who choose to transport their children from other places in Wiltshire to attend our school. We have children coming in from Devizes, Warminster, Westbury and Hilperton, as well as all the more local villages.
Families leaving our school As we prepare for our Admissions Panel at the beginning of June, we ask that if you are going to remove your child from our school at the end of this academic year, you let us know by the end of this half term. We have many families who would like to transfer their children into our school and we need to know how many places may be available to offer for the coming academic year 2019-20.
GDPR and Safeguarding Please remember that all parents must report into reception if they want to come into the school, and that they must be accompanied by a member of staff if they go into the classrooms. This helps us to make sure we are compliant with both safeguarding and data protection requirements.
Plant Sale There is a very good plant sale taking place in Erlestoke Church on Saturday 11 MAY from 2pm. There will be tea, cake, raffle and a FREE PLANT for every child who comes! (While stocks last.) It is always a great event with very reasonably priced and very good plants to get your garden started for summer. Do come along!
Worton & Cheverell Youth Football Club 9.30am on Saturday mornings for ages 3-6. Contact David Kiddle on 07843 678781 or davekiddle@sky.com for more details.
