Newsletter 20 – 1st March 2018

School Closure We almost never close our school, but the forecast overnight and tomorrow makes it necessary for us to call a school closure tomorrow, Friday 2nd March, as we will not have enough staff able to come safely to and from school to run a school day. This decision is not taken lightly as we really do not want to admit defeat but safety has to be our paramount concern. By making the decision today rather than tomorrow morning, we hope that we have given enough notice for parents to be able to make arrangements for the day.

World Book Day Whilst we know that this day is often a real hassle for parents, we do thank you for your patience and efforts.  We were especially pleased that children came in simple, easy to manage costumes and were able to talk about the character they had read about.

Snow day at school We all had a wonderful playtime today, sledging down Sledge Hill and doing what we could with the snow to make snow models. It was a particular joy to see our children sharing their sledges, helping each other, pushing and pulling sledges to help their friends have fun, and sharing what snow there was with kindness and compassion.

Parent- teacher meetings You can now book your appointments for these meetings to discuss your child’s attainment and progress with their class teacher by going to They take place on Wednesday 14th March and Thursday 15th March. Please make sure you have booked in good time so that you can get an appointment at a time that suits you.

Stonehenge Class Church Visit Please make sure we have your child’s permission slip by Monday morning otherwise your child will not be able to take part in this activity.

Sick Children Because we stand in loco parentis whilst your children are in school with us, it is really important that we know about any illness or injury or concern you may have about your child. Please let us know about outcomes of visits to the doctor, test results, changes in medication, changes in routines etc so that we can look after your child effectively.
